Join us at Coachman’s Quarters in Hillsborough, NC for a commemorative program marking 160 years since the ratification of the 13th Amendment. This event shares the powerful stories of Jesse Ruffin and Rebecca Norwood through their descendants, alongside historical context, musical performance, and a dedication in memory of Miss Maggie Bryant. Guests can also experience an 1865 African American food demonstration by Jerome Bias and take a guided tour of the historic Coachman’s Quarters. The program runs from Noon to 1pm, with the event open from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
